Eating to Fun-ction

Functional eating supports the fitness triangle goal of proportionate amounts of eating to fuel, movement to energize and rest to revitalize.

Smaller circular repetitions of this model are done intermittently during each day to support optimal performance and regenerate the body in a healthy way.

Questions to Ask Yourself

    1. Is your doctor referring you to a dietitian or nutritionist?
    2. Are you significanlty overweight, BMI >30 or 130% of your ideal weight?
    3. Are you over 45 and AT RISK for diabetes or heart disease?
    4. Do you have a personal or health reason why more functional eating would be beneficial, i.e., diabetes, heart disease, or other medical condition?
    5. Are you taking dietary supplements other than a multivitamin without knowledge of their safety and efficacy? Does your doctor know?
    6. Are you aware of emotional triggers that support over or under eating?
    7. Are you aware of cravings for particular foods at particular times?
    8. Do you feel you don't stop eating when satisfied or physically full?
    9. Do you skip meals thinking you will eat less and better manage your weight?
    10. Are you concerned about your own or your child's eating behavior?
