Eating Disorders
Our
American culture has contributed significantly to the development of "dis-ordered
eating" in teens and young adults and, for that matter, most of society.
Our obession with thinness and beauty, along with our pursuit of perfection
are major factors. Often, it is our unrealistic expectations of ourselves and
others that perpetuate dis-ordered thinking and feeling. When food becomes the
locus of control, an eating disorder is often the result.
